Program Group

The five members of the program group include one representative from each of our partner institutions of the Festival direction as well as artists from the professional theater for young audiences scene.


Gabi Bernetta

Born in Chur, she now lives in Zurich. She did her education and training as marketing planner at the SAWI in Basel. 2002–2004, postgraduate diploma in Cultural Management at the ZHAW, Winterthur. From 1990–1995 she was Director of KBB at KITZ, Junges Theater Zürich; 1999–2002, Advertising Manager/ Member of the Executive Board, Theater Canton Zürich in Winterthur; 2003–2004, Director of Communication at the interdisciplinary art space /laboratory forum:claque in Baden; 2006–2009, General Management and Public Relations at the Theater Chur; 2009–2010, Administrative Director of the Kunstexpander Performance Festival Aarau; 2013, Project Management of the Spielträume 2013 / Alte Reithalle Aarau. In 1995, she founded of Bernetta Theater Productions in Zurich and since then she has been engaged as production manager for independent ensembles including Thom Luz, TRIAD Theater Company in Zurich, theater konstellationen, Jürg Kienberger, Ruedi Häusermann, as well as training camps.


Frauke Jacobi

Born in Halle/Saale, has lived in Switzerland since 2005. Studies in the field of puppetry at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Art in Berlin. Engaged as puppeteer, actress, director, set decorator, and author at renowned theaters and for independent productions in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland and has received multiple awards of distinction. Guest docent at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Art, the Figurentheaterschule Stuttgart [Puppetry and Animation, and the Zurich University of the Arts ZHdK. Since 2014, Artistic Director of the FigurenTheater St.Gallen.


Jonas Knecht

Born in St. Gallen. From 1994–1998, he did electrical engineering studies in Rapperswil followed by employment as electrical engineer in Zurich. 1999–2003, studies in puppetry and directing at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Art in Berlin. During his studies, creation of the production platform/company called theater constellations and realization of his first own projects. Since graduation, work as a director at established institutions and in the independent scene. With his company theater konstellationen, development of music theater projects, live radio play series, and audio installations in a transdisciplinary field in between theater and installation. As of the 2016/2017 season, Drama Division Director at the Theater St.Gallen.


Andi Peter

Born in Zurich. After training and internship in architectural drafting, he did a second educational course of studies (Matura) and 2001–2005, in jazz singing, Department of Music, ZHdK Zurich, graduating with a teaching diploma in jazz and popular music.
Since then, he has worked as a multi-instrumentalist and singer in various projects and collaborations. As a singer, he works with two bands: Kabel and BabyHalbstark. Since 2004, member of the children’s theater group Fallalpha, where he has played in a new production annually as a theater musician. As a theater musician, he is also a frequent guest at the Theater St.Gallen.


Eve­li­ne Ra­te­ring

Born in Zurich, she now lives in Uster. Education and training as an actress at the Schauspiel-Akademie Zürich (since then incorporated into the Zurich University of the Arts ZHdK). Engaged as actress at various municipal theaters in Germany and Switzerland. Long-term ensemble member at KITZ, Junges Theater Zürich. Since 1996, has been working independently as actress, director, recording narrator, author, and theater teacher /(pedagogue). In 1999, Eveline founded the independent theater company TRIAD together with Gabi Bernetta and Ingo Ospelt, staging plays with professional actors/actresses, lay persons as well as children and youth. She has also developed numerous plays of her own. Since 2007, she has been recording narrator and recording director at SBS, Schweizerische Bibliothek für Blinde, Seh- und Lesebehinderte (Swiss Library for the Blind & Seeing and Hearing Impaired). From 2008–2013, she was docent for directing at the MAS-Masters of Science, Teaching Certification Level II program, TILL Theater Pedagogy (ZHdK). Since 2012, she has been a jury member at Boxenstopp Schweiz. 2007, Advancement Award for «Krabat» (Text and Directing), Internationales Bodenseekonferenz IBK (International Lake Constance Conference).
